Tech Users Summit 2026
Responsible AI & data
Responsible adoption of AI is a theme of this summit, so we hold the event and this website to the same standard. This statement sets out how we use AI, how we protect the information you give us, and the principles we work to.
Our principles
We approach AI the way the public sector is expected to: lawfully, transparently, and with people accountable for outcomes. Our practice is guided by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles, and by the intent of the Algorithm Charter for Aotearoa New Zealand – proportionality, human oversight, transparency, and the right of people to understand and challenge how their information is used.
How we use AI
AI-assisted tools were used to help build and maintain this website. Everything published is written and reviewed by people, who remain accountable for it.
We do not use AI or automated decision-making to assess, profile, rank, or decide anything about you – including your registration, eligibility, or pricing. Those are determined by published rules and, where needed, a person.
Information we collect
We practise data minimisation: we collect only what we need to run the event – your name, contact details, organisation and role, payment details, and any dietary or accessibility requirements you choose to share. We use it only for that purpose, and we do not sell it or use it for unrelated marketing.
Payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified provider; we do not store full card numbers on our systems. Information is encrypted in transit, and access is limited to the people organising the summit. See our terms and privacy details for retention and your rights of access and correction.
Data sovereignty
We recognise that data about people and communities in Aotearoa carries obligations, and we acknowledge the principles of Māori data sovereignty articulated by Te Mana Raraunga. Attendee information is held with reputable providers and is not transferred or repurposed beyond running the event.
AI and your data
We do not use attendee or registration data to train AI models, and we do not share it with third parties for that purpose. Your information is not part of any training dataset.
Security
Administrative access is protected by signed, expiring sessions and one-time email verification. We publish a security.txt so security researchers can report issues responsibly to support@redux.nz. We respond to legitimate reports promptly.
Automated access
We are deliberate about how automated agents and AI crawlers may use this site. Our robots directives and llms.txt allow public event content to be read while keeping administrative and attendee areas off-limits.
Accountability
This statement is maintained by the organising partners, the Digital Health Association and TUANZ. If you have a question or concern about how AI or your information is used, contact us via the Contact page and we will respond. We review this statement before each event.
