Code of Conduct

To ensure a positive and inclusive experience for everyone, please follow these guidelines.

Core Principles

Respectful Conduct

Treat all attendees, speakers, organisers, volunteers, and staff with respect and courtesy, regardless of their background, identity or beliefs.

Be mindful of your communication (both verbal and non verbal) and consider the impact of your words and actions on others.

Avoid offensive language, harassment, discrimination, or any other form of disrespectful behavior. This includes but is not limited to: physical or verbal threats; unwelcome attention; stalking; pushing, shoving, or use of physical force; behavior that creates a disturbance or is dangerous, including lewd or generally offensive behavior or language; using sexually explicit or offensive language or conduct; excessive profanity; obscene gestures; use of racial, religious, sexual, gender, ability, or ethnic slurs.

Act in a responsible manner in regard to alcohol consumption.

Professionalism

Maintain a professional demeanor throughout the event.

Respect the time and attention of speakers and other participants.

Refrain from disruptive behaviour during sessions or presentations.

Inclusivity

We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, as an attendee you are also committed to this.

Be open and create a safe space for others to share diverse perspectives and experiences.

Be considerate of different communication styles and cultural norms.

Actively contribute to making the event a safe and comfortable space for everyone.

Safety

Adhere to all safety regulations and instructions provided by the event organisers.

Report any safety concerns or incidents to the event team immediately.

FLINT Hosted Events

If you are attending a FLINT hosted event, but are outside the target demographic (18-35 years), we ask you to support the space, by allowing those within the intended audience to lead the discussion and ask questions.

Consequences

Any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct may result in consequences, including:

  • Verbal warning
  • Removal from the event without a refund
  • Ban from future events

Reporting

If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the DHA, TUANZ or FLINT host. All reports will be treated confidentially.
